Virtual Best Practice Workshops

Best Practice Workshops – The employee health management discipline is coming of age. Employers are implementing new employee health management strategies at an unprecedented rate. The quality of the program design, data-collection, analysis and validation of impact are improving. The result is that employee health management programs which are successful and data-rich are being identified in increasing numbers. This rapidly changing market demands a more sophisticated system of employee health management education and networking. This is proposed by the new HERO Forum for Employee Health Management Solutions (Forum).  The Forum is a high quality, small scale gathering of top level corporate executives and selected employee health management providers and stakeholders. The emphasis is on participant interaction, sharing, and learning.

One of the highlights of the Forum is the “HOW TO” do it Workshops, which are very personal and interactive. Instead of the usual 45-60 minute monolog presentation, each workshop is 90 minutes in duration. The corporate executives who have responsibility for the programs facilitate the Workshops. They devote about 45 minutes to information-data input, which includes a description of program design, details of program operations, various kinds of outcome data, data warehousing and most important, how they do it, and what they have learned. The other 45 minutes are devoted to open discussion, debate, critique and consensus on “how to do it” issues. This new and unique approach to learning, sharing, and networking allows the participants to be on the cutting edge of employee health management as never before.

At the September 2006 and the October 2007 Forums, Workshops were facilitated by individuals representing Dow Chemical Company, General Electric – Energy, Johnson & Johnson, Alcon, Inc., Affinia Group, Boeing, DIRECTV, Eastman Chemical, Entergy, Goldman Sachs, HealthPartners, IBM, Sutter Health, Eastman Chemical Company, Kellogg Company, Motorola, Miller, Canfield, Paddock & Stone, PLC, Pioneer Hi-Bred International, Inc.,Union Pacific Railroad, and VOLVO/Mack Truck. In addition to the most data rich companies workshops were also presented on NCQA, Koop Award Criteria, and the President's Council program.
