The
Health Enhancement Research Organization (HERO) has identified the role
of executive leadership as vital to successful Employee Health
Management (EHM.) In an effort to nurture this growing industry
practice, HERO wishes to recognize executives that have directly
impacted the health of their organization and positively influenced the
corporate culture.
This award will be presented to a person of senior leadership status, (e.g., CEO, CFO, VP) who has made an outstanding contribution towards the advancement of EHM within their company. When determining a qualified candidate you should be able to positively respond to this question, "Has this individual been largely responsible for making our program the success it is today?"
Award Criteria
Inspires and initiates the advancement of EHM by focusing on the achievement of the organization’s health goals.

Utilizes EHM as an overall business strategy that contributes to creating a culture of health and the success of the organization.

Demonstrates a commitment to the health improvement of others by visibly supporting programs and projects.

Creates environments that have produced meaningful outcomes for the organizations in which they held a leadership role.
Specific Areas Used to Measure Each Candidate
Please provide complete responses to each of the criteria listed. Candidates will be judged based on these responses. Providing curriculum vitae and other supporting documentation is helpful and encouraged, but not a substitute for responding to the following criteria.

Demonstrate how this leader has influenced executives to lead a similar wellness charge at his or her organization, other organizations or the community in which they serve.

Provide specific examples of how this leader has been a visible leader for the organization.

Show that the organization has measurable outcomes demonstrating overall health improvement. Data sources can include validated instruments for measuring organizational health as well as ROI or other data collected during an evaluation phase.
- The variety of program/projects the candidate has been involved with over his or her career. Please include paid as well as volunteer positions, the dates of service, a description of the organization/committee or subcommittee and the contributions provided by the candidate.

Applications should include relevant written testimonials. The Awards Committee requires a minimum of one recommendation and will review up to three recommendations. Honorees receive complimentary airfare, hotel accommodations and Forum registration fee for themselves to the HERO Forum.
